Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old. By signing up you confirm that the date of birth you provide is accurate.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login details secure. Usernames are unique; treat yours as permanent unless we later allow a change.

The service

SpotUs lets you connect with friends, optionally share your live location, post fitness activity (callouts, stories, food drops), message friends, and optionally log or scan food. Features may change as we improve the product.

Location sharing is not a safety or emergency service. Do not rely on SpotUs to find someone in an emergency. You control whether and with whom you share location.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you post (photos, videos, text, food scans you share). You grant SpotUs a non-exclusive license to host, display, and deliver that content as needed to operate the app (for example showing a story to your friends, or sending a photo in a chat).

You represent that you have the right to post what you post, and that it does not violate the law or someone else’s rights.

Ephemeral content may disappear after its expiry. We may remove content that violates these Terms or that we are required to remove.

Acceptable use

Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, spam, or post illegal, sexual involving minors, or otherwise harmful content. Do not scrape, abuse, or try to bypass security, blocks, or privacy settings. Do not use the app to stalk or surveil someone.

We provide Report and Block. Report abuse in the app. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms.

Food scanner and diet tools

Calorie and macro figures from scans or the food database are estimates only. They are not medical, dietary, or professional advice. Do not use SpotUs as a substitute for a doctor, dietitian, or treatment for an eating disorder or other condition.

Subscriptions

If we offer a paid SpotUs Max (or similar) plan, billing is handled by Apple or Google under their store terms. Manage or cancel those purchases in your store account. We will describe prices and benefits in the app before you buy.

Third-party services

Maps, sign-in, chat, push, and AI scanning are provided in part by third parties. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. SpotUs is not responsible for those services going down or changing.

Disclaimers

SpotUs is provided “as is.” We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that location, messages, or scan results will be accurate. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, SpotUs and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to SpotUs is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50). Some places do not allow certain limits; in those places we limit liability only as much as the law allows.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Account & Support. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these Terms, if we have to for legal reasons, or if we shut down the service. After deletion, our Privacy Policy explains what we keep (including safety reports).

Changes

We may update these Terms. We will change the effective date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. If you keep using SpotUs after the update, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, delete your account and stop using the app.
